Just Trade’s animal pendants are handcarved from tagua nuts and polished to create a smooth surface. The eyes are made by drilling into the nut and filling the hole with ground-up tagua shell, which is then sealed with varnish. Each one is made with traditional craft skills by a fairly-paid artisan in Sosote, a small village on the coast of Ecuador. Like all Just Trade products, they’re made in a sustainable, ethical way.
