Designer Peter Maxwell created Made Solid's original hand-shaped tray for a Los Angeles-area Japanese restaurant, where it was used to deliver the bill in attention-getting style. This version is revamped in a gorgeous, individually dyed indigo pattern—but like its predecessor, this shallow tray is crafted using the basic properties of vegetable-tanned leather. Cut and shaped while wet, the piece is dried to harden the form, then finished with rich beeswax and plant oils. Perfect for collecting keys, change, receipts, paper clips or other small essentials—and exhibiting Made Solid's signature simplicity and functionality—the tray will acquire a rich character and patina over time.
